Advisories

Advisories are checks which can be run against certain records in the database such as unbooked slots or booked appointments. They allow you to set warning markers if any of the checks fail. They will be indicated on views with an alert indicator similar to that on the right.

Advisory Examples

Below are a few examples of typical advisories used by VT users. Note, the specific checks will be based upon the processes and procedures within your incubator or accelerator program.

Each advisory requires an SQL report, a ’trigger value’ and a few additional settings. The examples below will illustrate by example.

Autosave only works if you are

entering the text into a log entry

on the main company page. It

does not currently work if you

are editing in a pop-up window

Venture Tracker will autosave logs as you type them.

If you have a browser crash, a network outage, forget to save, or anything else, when you come back to that log (On the Company View page), it will show the stored log but also your autosave - if that is different.

Meeting Booker provides a simple interface to run individual reports - this can be accessed from the Other Views -> Reports menu. An example is shown below:

The interface allows reports to be tuned and refreshed, the underlying SQL to be viewed (maybe to copy for the start of a new report) and also for the data to be exported in a number of formats, for example CSV or PDF.
